Southeast Community College, also known as SCC, is a community college system located in the southeast portion of Nebraska. The school features 3 campuses and over 20 off-campus sites in 15 different other counties. The locations of these campuses are mostly located in southeast Nebraska. These cities are Lincoln, Beatrice, and Milford. SCC also offers distance learning through online their school in more than 300 available courses each term.
An average of more than 11,000 students makes up the student body of SCC each year. These students are enrolled at the campuses and through online courses. SCC also offers Adult Basic Education classes, Citizenship classes, and General Educational Development tests for students who have not earned a high school diploma. The college also has a nationally recognized Entrepreneurship Center, which teaches courses on starting a business and operating a successful business incubator that can provide support for new, operational or growing business ventures.
At SCC's Beatrice Campus, there are offering of many transfer and technical programs. The campus features a 900-acre laboratory farm operation for hands on education in six different programs. The main part of campus also features several classroom buildings, a gymnasium for intercollegiate athletics and intramurals, and student housing. In the Lincoln campus, there are 26 technical areas of study and an active transfer program for students who wish to continue their education at a four-year institution.
The 2 year Transfer program is also very popular for students who want to earn their general education requirements before transferring to a 4 year school. University of Nebraska Lincoln is one of the most popular transfer schools for SCC Academic Transfer students, and SCC is UNL's largest source of junior college transferees. There is a 1 to 1 class credit transfer ratio between SCC and UNL.
